And find your million dollar difference in 5 minutes

Hey Climbers. This week —

🤔 And my current daily obsession

CRINGE MOUNTAIN OF THE WEEK
Anne Hathaway’s Cringe Mountain

This Vanity Fair cover story on Anne Hathaway has been living rent free in my head since I read it.

Anne Hathaway has truly copped her fair share of hate over her career.

From the beginning, she has been criticised for being too sincere, too intense, too this, too that.

At every step, she could have given into the hate. Toned herself down.

Shrunk a little.

But in this piece, we get an insight into how she has been able to keep moving forward - in her entirety - despite the haters. And a clue as to how we can do the same.

She said:

“Humiliation is such a rough thing to go through. The key is to not let it close you down. You have to stay bold, and it can be hard because you’re like, ‘If I stay safe, if I hug the middle, if I don’t draw too much attention to myself, it won’t hurt.’

But if you want to do that, don’t be an actor. You’re a tightrope walker. You’re a daredevil. You’re asking people to invest their time and their money and their attention and their care into you. So you have to give them something worth all of those things. And if it’s not costing you anything, what are you really offering?”

So I’m aiming for 1 star or 5 stars

This piece made me reflect on my own journey with feeling humiliated when I was dealing with haters as a national radio host and creator.

For a long time, I let it close me down.

It was easier to just stay small.

But easier isn’t better.

I learned far too late; the thing that some people criticise you for is juuuuust to the left of the thing that others love you for.

And if you tone down one, you tone down the other one too.

I don’t want to hug the middle.

I want to either get a 1 star review, or a 5 star review.

I invite you to join me.

CREATIVE INSPO OF THE WEEK
My new friend Sandy

Don’t tell my boyfriend, but I have a crush.

He and I meet every morning.

He makes me feel more calm, creative and inspired.

His name is Sandy.

(And he doesn’t know who I am because he’s a breathwork instructor on Youtube.)

I know I’m like the last person on the planet to discover breathwork but seriously, give it a try.

Shit’s kinda magical.

That’s all for now.

Until next time!
